What to Expect: This one-day training will be highly interactive. Participants will experience group activities, role-play, videos, lectures, and skills practice. Objectives: Articulate the rationale behind SBIRT and the role that substance use prevention plays in healthcare.Accurately administer recommended screening tools used in the application of SBIRT.Delineate criteria for each intervention following the screening process.Demonstrate best practices in the implementation of a brief intervention using motivational interviewing. Upstream can host this fantastic one-day training free to participants thanks to a grant from the Duke Energy Foundation. Lunch on this date is provided free to participants by Valle Vista.
