Rising to prominence with the death of President Abraham Lincoln, the Pullman Company, famous for its luxurious train travel, has always had a shadowy history. Almost from its very beginning, Pullman Town designed by George M. Pullman to address his workers' every need, also grappled with the grim aspects of life. Join us as we unearth stories from Pullman's history, once well known, now largely forgotten, but all historically documented. The stories we share today—mostly small stories of tragedy—are the macabre side of the American story. All events occurred before 1960 and reflect the shadow side of the American dream. Anything more recent becomes tragedy instead of history. This tour is designed for young adults and older. Parental Discretion is advised.
