Hiya! My name is Bryant but my nom de plume is Rip Florence! He/Him pronouns, please! I live in Santa Cruz and I like to make Freak Folk, Soft Grunge, Lo-Fi Rock music! It sorta sounds like a mix of Violent Femmes, Pavement, Courtney Barnett, Syd Barrett and Guy Clark. In the past, I’ve played a show as Daniel Johnston’s guitarist, toured around the PNW, the UK, Central/ Western Europe. I love to write songs about my feelings and experiences. Also about political issues as well as abstract stream-of-consciousness lyric writing. I’ve been doing solo recording and gigging for a few years now and would love to regularly collaborate with local, reliable, FUN, and down-to-earth musicians who want to enjoy playing, writing and learning together! I’d love to be able to practice/ jam once a week and gig once a month. Specifically, I’d really like to play with people who can sing, play drums, percussion, bass, synth, or something of the sort! I’m 31 so playing with folks around my age would be ideal but I’m down to be flexible!
