Billy Kenoi was a staunch advocate for healthy, active lifestyles. Throughout his tenure, he invested in the development and enhancement of County parks throughout Hawa‘i Island. To honor his contributions, the Pāhoa District Park, situated in the region of Puna on Hawai‘i Island, is being renamed for William "Billy" Punapaia‘alaikahala Kenoi, former Hawai‘i County Mayor (2008-2016), public servant, lawyer, teacher, coach, and Ironman finisher.
Join the Kenoi ‘ohana, close friends, and colleagues on Tuesday, November 9 (Billy's heavenly birthday) for this naming event and as we hold space to celebrate the life, legacy, and leadership of Mayor Kenoi.
An aha ceremony, which includes awa, will set the tone and intention for our coming together. The ceremony will be followed by a short program including unveil of park signage and remarks. Stay for refreshments, entertainment, and fellowship!
Aha ceremony begins promptly at 11:30AM. If you plan to participate in this grounding experience, be sure to arrive at 11:15AM to get settled.
