Description

So you want to apply for a grant, but don’t know where to start? This workshop will provide nonprofit organizations who are newer to the grant writing experience with helpful tips and strategies to help get your grant writing on track. Where do you find grants? How do you read an RFP? How do I know it is a good fit for me? What is a logic model? Is my idea a good one? The workshop will be organized into four monthly sessions. You can sign up for as many as you like. Each session is $60. Or you may sign up for all four sessions for $200 - a savings of $40. Organizations that sign up for all four sessions will also be able to schedule a one-on-one review session with the instructor. At the last session, attendees will have the chance to interact with ULM faculty members to brainstorm ideas for future collaborations. Session 1: Laying the Foundation - October 14 In this session, participants will identify the organization's needs, understand the types of grants, establish goals and objectives, and begin to build common application materials. Session 2: Building the Narrative - November 10 In this session, participants will build the narrative of their proposal, applying the goals and objectives established. They will also learn how to budget for a grant proposal. Session 3: Funder's Corner - January 20 In this session, participants will learn about the different types of funders, how to find them, and how to break down the funding requirements. Participants will also be able to sit in the funder's seat and review sample proposals. Session 4: Collaboration and Partnerships - February 10 The workshops will conclude with a focus on collaboration in grant writing. Participants will have the opportunity to interact with faculty and staff at ULM to brainstorm potential grant opportunities.
