The evening’s events will feature area paranormal experts equipped ghosthunting gadgets, intuitives revealing premonitions from the beyond, and longtime volunteers eager to share their unexplainable accounts at one of Quincy’s most treasured – and certainly most unique - landmarks. Throughout “Night of the Spirits,” small groups will traverse the villa’s rooms and grounds each hour from 6 p.m. until 11 p.m., hearing chilling tales as they experience what lurks in the shadows. In the spirit of the villa’s visionary George Metz, the Friends of the Castle will offer visitors an array of delicious treats (including signature mocktails), messages conveyed from talented mediums and card readers, and curated spots to capture incredible Instagram-worthy photos. Funds raised through this special event will be directed toward ongoing restoration and facilities projects that allow Villa Kathrine to host Quincy’s tourist information center, remain an interpretive center along the Great River Road, and welcome visitors seven days a week through the efforts of dedicated volunteers. Tickets for “Night of the Spirits” are $40 per person; a limited number of tickets will be sold. This is an event for adults intended only for entertainment purposes.
