Description

On Saturday, September 10, 2022, more than 450 Atlantans donned in their best attire descended upon the The St. Regis Atlanta for the Hope Ball, the American Cancer Society's annual signature gala. Raising a million dollars, the evening brought together leaders in Atlanta’s social, philanthropic, and corporate communities to help fund critical cancer research and support the American Cancer Society’s mission to save lives, celebrate lives, and lead the fight for a world without cancer. Since 2016, the Hope Ball has raised $5.7 million supporting cancer research and the Atlanta Hope Lodge.    Hosted by WSB-TV2 anchor Wendy Corona, the soirée began with an elegant cocktail hour and silent auction, complemented by the sounds of the Joe Grandson Quartet. Patrons enjoyed an exquisite, multi-course dinner from Executive Chef Jordan Barnett of The St. Regis Atlanta before the donation presentation and an exciting live auction that included trips to Iceland, Rome, Costa Rica and Hawaii compliments of Delta Vacations. Additionally, American Cancer Society CEO Dr. Karen Knudsen was in attendance celebrating innovation in cancer research and a mission moment from cancer survivor Julia York and Winship Cancer Institute at Emory researcher Dr. Curtis Henry.  The evening continued with the Hope@Night after party where guests danced to DJ Era, mingled with young professionals and corporate leaders, and partied with a purpose. Attendees enjoyed a premium open bar, late-night bites including sliders, truffle fries and crispy fried mac and cheese squares, and a 360 photo booth experience that captured all the fun. Presented by Delta Air Lines, funds raised at the Hope Ball benefits the American Cancer Society and its mission is to free the world from cancer. The dynamic organization funds and conducts research, shares expert information, supports patients, and spreads the word about prevention.
