Tom Waits Tribute Maybe?

Had much more flowery and twisted ad, but really just wondering... anyone interesting in covering some Tom Waits?.? Me: Guy with gravelly voice and an affinity for stage craft (being a jackass in front of people and yelling). You: Better musicians than I. Goal: Cover hot picks from the oeuvre of Tom Waits and maybe cover random songs in a similar style (I don't know cover the Disney songbook in the style of Closing Time. I can play a little guitar and am known for being a bit of an energetic presence on stage. I have a main project as a hackneyed singer/songwriter, so I'm hoping that this could be something that folks could put in time on the basics of the songs and then come together once everyone feels that they have structures together, put a few rehearsals in before entering the real world. Or at least trying a thing or two out and see how it feels. Maybe I'm misguided and maybe it's foolish, but oh well... Plus, it ain't looking like Tom's gonna tour anytime soon. I live in Hyattsville/College Park about 5 mins. from UMD. Thanks regardless for reading, have a nice life.
