Huge long-shot from the late 80s or early 90s

This is a huge long shot. Back in the late 80s or early 90s, a really nice looking (at the time) fellow was a volunteer speech coach for the Cibola High School Speech Team. He drove a pickup truck (I'm tempted to say Toyota) with a Yosemite Sam license plate in the front that said, "Back Off." He came across as of New York Italian background. I've forgotten his name in the intervening years, but was curious what may have become of him. If you might know of whom I am speaking, please get hold of me. Like I said, it's a huge long shot, but who knows?
