Description
Rehoming Golden Retriever/ Lab mix, Male, 1.5 years old, fixed, has had all shots but needs an updated rabies vaccine. Very energetic, knows basic commands, kennel trained.
He is very smart, but needs more work (doesn't always obey on first command, and can be naughty when you aren't paying attention), He likes to be around people, craves constant attention and doesn't understand personal space. If he is told to stay, he will listen but given no command he may run out the door. He has a high prey drive (chases flies, bubbles, etc.) He does pull a bit on the leash but does well with a training collar. He does sound very aggressive towards unfamiliar dogs and animals (not sure if he would be aggressive, but he displays aggression through growling/barking/ and his posture. He also barks at animals on tv) He has warmed up to other dogs that he's been properly introduced to and does well with a companion to wrestle and play with. He barks when people come in but has not been aggressive towards them though he is still a bit jumpy and and pushy. He has been around young kids and does fine (though he won't obey them at all, and is a little big and pushy with them as well), he does get in a hurry at times and tends to push through to get somewhere. He will wait if told, but again without the command he just goes. He sleeps in a kennel at night but does better with a blanket than a bed as he likes to chew on the beds. He was originally trained to ring a bell to go outside and he may still do that if set up for it. He can climb over a 4ft fence.
We are so sad to be rehoming him but he needs more room and attention than we are able to give him at this time. Asking a $250 rehoming fee (same as shelter fees) to insure he goes to a good home.
