Position Summary The Yard Inventory & Class A Driver position aids in managing the daily pick up schedule and the checking in and out of our auction items. An effective Yard & Driver is key to the overall efficiency of equipment inventory as well as maintaining a high sense of customer service and quality standards. This is a hands-on labor position, in that the inventory laborer/driver must work alongside his or her team to complete daily tasks. This position would report to, and work with, the Operations Manager and other yard employees, perform regular maintenance of equipment, and monitor and track inventory and work with expediting department on loads for pick up. The ideal candidate has the ability to recall details and information from previous weeks. Our facility has over thousands of items moving in and out each week, the Yard /driver must be able to keep an accurate record of all inventory moving to & from the yard. Must have knowledge/experience in heavy equipment, commercial trucks, rental equipment, and/or construction. The ability to work well under pressure, ability to stand for long periods of time, excellent work ethic, follow and practice safety procedures, and be able to work in an industrial environment - inside/outside year around. All candidates must qualify to work in a drug-free environment and be able to pass a background check and drug test. Job responsibilities include (but are not limited to) the following: -Coordinate yard operations within company policies and procedures. -Assist with day-to-day operations of the yard, including managing inventory receiving, auction set-up/staging, and vehicle documentation/check-in. -Ensure truckloads leaving the yard are accurately loaded and is responsible for quantity, quality, and accuracy of inventory released from yard. -Maintain yard organization, condition, efficiency, and safety. -Perform work assigned by Operations Manager to ensure successful order and display of the yard and warehouse. Qualifications: --Minimum 2 to 3 years work experience in construction, equipment rentals, dealership, parts/warehouse, or applicable industrial yard. --HIGH level of attention to detail. --Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic, and deadline sensitive environment. --Flexible, dependable, team-oriented, and self-motivated. The ability to look around and find what needs to be done without direction. --Must have a valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License, and insurable driving record, and be able to become certified to operate a forklift. --Ability to safely operate a broad range of equipment including aerial work platforms, telehandlers, backhoes, excavators, and skid steers. --Ability to safely and effectively load, bind/secure, and offload construction equipment and freight during a shift assignment that could last between 8 and 10 hours. --In addition to being able to sit, stand, walk, read, talk, write, and hear; to perform the essential functions of this job an individual must be able to do the following activities: -Maintain a valid Class A Commercial Driver’s license and record. -Long periods of standing, stooping, bending, squatting, or working in a prone position -Climb on, off, and under large equipment and trucks. -Work outside year-round, no matter the weather. -Occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. Accommodations will be made if they are reasonable, do not create an undue hardship, and will enable an individual with a disability to safely perform the essential job functions. -Work overtime, including weekend hours during each sale. You can expect to work extra hours for 2-3 weeks prior to each sale, during each sale, and for 1-2 weeks after each sale. -Travel as required to other auction sites within the region.
