Description
Unfortunately, we have to give away our Chihuahua/Scottish Terrier mix, “Ziggy.” He is four years old.
Yes, I understand that adoption is a long shot but here is the story: We got Ziggy as a puppy from our neighbor. Ziggy is very cute and very loyal to one (possibly two) people. Those people must be females as he does not like men. We are a family of five (three men, two women) and he is attached to my wife and will tolerate my daughter. He is great with my wife. He is horrible with me and my two boys. Horrible as in depending on his mood, if they try to pet him, he will bite them. When I walk by his kennel he growls like he is a Doberman Pinscher defending his home. That being said, he is actually a good watch dog but doesn’t know when to stop. If you have guests, he needs to be in a kennel. Also, he doesn’t know the word “come” so if he gets out of the house/yard, he’ll come back on his time. The only thing that sometimes works is to rattle a box of treats.
On the plus side he is totally house and crate trained and very cute. He is also very smart. We have tried drugs to make him more mellow but to no avail. He needs to be in a home with a single female without kids. He could be a good dog for the right person. We are at our ropes end and even the vet recommended that we put him down which may be what we do.
If you are at all interested, let me know. No re-homing fee, obviously.
