Seperating Construction Waste Materials. Materials to be manually seperated: Asphalt Roofing Shingles. Job Description Hours: 6:00-3:00 (Saturdays as needed for business needs) • PPE Requirements: Boots, Hard Hat, High Visual Vest, Safety glasses. • Hard hat, High Vis Vest, Safety Glasses, Earplugs, Gloves and Dust masks are provided, but not required • No personal phones or smoking while in stations, utilize your breaks for that What you will need: 1. Ability to understand procedures, safety & environmental risks associated with the recycling, handling and processing of Asphalt Roofing Shingles. 2. Effectively communicate to managers, customers and peers Physical Requirements: 3. Able to work outside in all safe weather conditions 4. Stand for long periods of time 5. Must be able to carry 50 lbs, hand operate valves and use hand tools, if needed. 6. Must be able to bend down and reach up and out 7. Must be able to work in all temperature climates 8. Must be able to climb stairs and ladders A Day in the life typically includes: 9. Making sure all receptacles are ready to receive materials 10. Flip and sort through shingles, removing all materials that are not, and placing them in their designated receptacles. 11. Garbage to include but not limited to plastic wrap, cardboard, bottles, flat roof, large pieces of tar paper, tools, tiles, brick, rock, and anything else that is not shingles, be warned that some items are stinky and rotten. 12. metal to include vents drip edge, gutters pop cans 13. Before leaving for the day, pick up any materials on the floor at the sort station and or under the sort station 14. When equipment gets shut down by the supervisor the following needs to be done: Clean up work area within the first 10 minutes, clean up incoming and stockpiles of shingles, clean up street, report to supervisor/read task on board (you can add a task that needs to be completed) 15. Cleaning and putting tools away 16. Working safe at all times including the following: Make eye contact with persons in loaders, trucks or any moving equipment prior to walking behind or in front of. Do not climb on conveyor belts or walk underneath them. Do not walk under the chute area except for the designated paths. No running! Stay in designated walking areas/paths-look for cones
