Drummer Looking

Description

Drummer looking for a band. I'm a quick learner, who plays by ear. I've been drumming since I was 14 (am 41 now) but have had the rhythm of life since birth. I can read some music and understand drumming music and I can play some guitar and read tabs. I have my own kit and an electronic kit, but I live in an apartment, so I'd need a home base to jam/practice. Drums are currently being stored at a friends house. Influences include but are certainly not limited to, Zeppelin, The Police, Tool, RATM, GnR, Zappa, Thee Oh Sees, Van Halen, Radiohead, QOTSA, Sabbath, Rush, Pink Floyd and many, many others. John Bonham is the main influence, followed closely by Stewart Copeland. Danny Carey is another favorite. Ideally, I'd like to be in an originals-type band with maybe a few covers sprinkled in, but I'm down for whatever- I just miss playing with people and playing on stage. My soul NEEDS it. I've been listening to a lot of Oh Sees lately, so a two-drummer band would be fun. But again, I'm down for whatever. I have an ever-growing list of cover songs I can play, albeit some a bit rusty simply because I live in an apartment and can't practice ( I air drum a lot with headphones and practice on the electronic kit), but at present there are about 45 songs I can play pretty well right off the bat. I won't list them here to save time, but I can share if you happen to be interested. Again, this list is always growing. I've been drumming my whole life and have been in several bands. The longest was an originals band with two to four covers sprinkled in (mainly Burning Beard by Clutch and Snakecharmer by RATM). I liken our sound to Pink Floyd meets Clutch- a stoner spacey rock sound. We released an album. I was also in a classic rock cover/originals band and a drum and bass band. Most recently, I drummed in a Pink Floyd cover band that covered the Dark Side of The Moon in its entirety. I also drummed/performed in a Night of The Living Dead musical some years back- it was a fuckin' blast. I love playing on stage and miss it terribly. I'm not sure what else to say but if you've read this far, thanks. Hopefully I've piqued your interests and if I have, send me an email and lets see if the chemistry is there. I'm in Ferndale. -Wes
