Description
Hello,
I play guitar and sing and my wife is a bass player and we’re looking for people to put together a project we have in our heads for a long time.
We’re mainly looking for a drummer, keyboard player and an accordion player, but I’d love to other stuff as well like trumpet, theremin or lap steel so if you play anything interesting let us know!
The concept might be a bit hard to explain, but we’re thinking sort of 60s Quincy Jones meets Jacques Dutronc meets Jacques Brel meets Scott Walker meets 60s spy soundtracks.
We’re thinking the cool and mysterious 60s spy with a pinch of Spaghetti Western, moody and atmospheric keys, groovy basslines, guitars drenched in spring reverb, quite cinematic, with some over the top moments and some playful upbeat songs. A bit of french gypsy jazz and a bit bluesy, but not jazz nor blues if that makes any sense. Haha
Here’s a few tunes that whilst is not exactly what we’re going for might give you a solid idea:
Scott Walker - My Death and Mathilde
Jacques Brel - Ne Me Quitte Pas and Les Flamandes
Jacques Dutronc - Les Gens Sont Fous and Sur Une Nappe De Restaurant
Quincy Jones - On Days Like These
Stevie Nicks’ version of Cotton Candy Lane
The Good, The Bad & The Queen - Nineteen Seventeen and The Poison Tree
We don’t really care about age but we’re not looking for hired guns. We just want to have fun and whilst writing tunes, playing gigs and recording is a big part of the fun we’re not looking for musicians that are only doing it for the paid gigs.
If that sounds interesting and if you have any questions let us know!
