Sweet young Tuxedo cat, male

Description

My partner and I recently adopted a second cat in the hopes that it would be a companion for our first. In the month since we brought him home, they have made significant progress in socializing, but still— his energy is a bit too much for our slightly older female cat, and she would prefer we make alternate arrangements for him. He is about 9lbs, ~2 years old, and loves to play with his fish pole toys or fetch. He is very affectionate! He purrs a lot, and is increasingly into being held— very cutely burrowing his head into your chest or arm. He was born into a hoarding situation and spent a year of his young life in a cage; as a result, we think he did not get to develop some of his feline finesse at the usual time… when our first cat leaps up onto a table or shelf, he just looks on in wonder. He has the athleticism, but lacks the control, so he can’t get on surfaces more than two or three feet high unless there are steps to ease his way. He is used to other cats and could easily live with another cat, as long as they don’t mind his playfulness. He’s a great little guy. We have his full medical file to send home with him— fully vaccinated, no illnesses. His right eye waters ever so slightly sometimes, perhaps from some early trauma to the eye, but it’s not messy and he’s still just as cute. We also have a lovely hutch we can send with him to contain his litter box (see pictures). We are asking a $100 adoption fee to offset a small portion of what we have spent on him and to ensure that he is going to a home that can and will provide him with excellent care. He is young cat, so you are adopting a companion for at least the next decade or more! I am home frequently these days, so I can schedule meet-and-greets at our apartment in Westville (please be vaccinated and wear a mask for these visits). Serious inquiries only! 😻
