About Chris GrieseChris Griese was a Minnesota wine industry life-er until he experienced his first taste of hand-crafted sake. That intersection permanently altered his career and within two years he was on his way to Japan to “dig a little deeper” into the world of sake. Following a first trip to Japan, Chris launched a personal sake crusade across the State of Minnesota believing that enlightened wine drinkers should experience the unique beauty of artisan sake. That quest continues. In 2018, Chris joined Sake Story founder, long-time friend, Sake Sensei and importer, Toshi Kojima-San, to continue sharing the stories and virtues of their favorite Japanese sake brewers. Chris, received his Advanced Sake Professional II Certification in Tokyo 2011; returned the following year to brew sake with his friend Taka Yamauchi-San, Owner Fuchu Homare Shuzo; holds a WSET Sake III Educator Certification and stays in shape gigging weekends as a Sake Kuribito at Moto-I Sake Brew Pub Minneapolis... his ramen and sake life-line.
