Join us at Spring Hill Farm for a program celebrating the fusion of Ohio art and history. Artist and Author Dr. Robert Kroeger explores barns across the state, learning their stories and sharing them with others through his essays, events, and books like Historic Barns of Ohio (History Press, Arcadia Publishing). After his travels, he heads back to his home in Cincinnati to paint the barns and their landscapes using the impasto technique. Join us for this event celebrating the restoration of our early 1900s granary barn over the past year, and to learn about other historic barns around Stark County and greater Ohio! The event will begin with a painting demonstration in the barn starting at 4 p.m., which will be available by raffle. Throughout the evening, shop Spring Hill's gift shop along with local vendors who create with barn wood. The painting demonstration will be followed by barn stories and an option to go on a grounds tour until 7 p.m. Signed copies of "Historic Barns of Ohio" (The History Press) will be available for purchase. Light refreshments will be provided. This event is free & open to the public, but donations are appreciated. The proceeds from this event will benefit Spring Hill Historic Home's preservation fund for the maintenance of the granary barn.
