Date: Friday, September 30, 2022 Time: 12:30pm - 3:30pm Participants will get an introduction to the role of a Paraprofessional including Special Education Basics such as what is an IEP, Disability Categories, Assistive Technology, and Least Restrictive Environment considerations. The participants will also review the Classroom Basics such as potential tool use with students, programs along the continuum, potential job duties, roles, and responsibilities. Additionally, the participants will explore seven effective tips and tricks for communicating with students to build strong relationships. Finally, participants will examine self-care strategies and potential pitfalls of the work.
