To complement his Sharing Spaces exhibition at the Gregg Museum, artist Eric Serritella demonstrates the Gong-fu (sometimes Kung-fu) method of brewing tea in the museum lobby. He prepares Oolong tea the way it is customarily brewed in southern China and Taiwan, in small Yixing teapots with multiple tea bowls and vessels. Like a wine tasting, it involves all the senses, including viewing, smelling, and tasting tea. He also discusses Yixing teapot history and its influence on his work. The demonstration is followed by a private tour of his current exhibition with the artist. Space is limited, so please register via Eventbrite in advance of this demonstration.
