Description

Join us at Westgate Wine Bar for this VERY special California wine tasting next Wednesday: with the tiny production, very much luxury wines from Crescere (with three over $100 and one over $200, and these are the best prices ANYWHERE!), as well as the stunning value wines from the same owner’s Reynoso Family Vineyards. The tasting is next Wednesday, September 28th, from 5:00 to 7:00, with Crescere’s national sales manager Davis Anderson presiding. Because we want as many people as possible to experience these profound wines, we’re pricing this tasting at only $20 in advance or $30 the day of. (To give an idea of how much of a deal this is, a local restaurant recently did a dinner with Melka’s wines and charged $350 a person!) We’ve tried all of these, and they’re about as good as California wines – as well as the wines of Crescere’s winemaker, Philippe Melka – ever get. Crescere and Reynoso’s founder, Joe Reynoso, by the way, is a real American success story. The oldest of 15 children, his father was an immigrant worker in California’s Central Valley. His family was very much invested in education, and though Reynoso went to nine different schools by the eighth grade, his education paid off. In 1994, he purchased the great vineyard that had always been his dream. (A dream he had since seeing Napa for the first time as a piano mover in 1980.) Here are the wines we will taste: 2020 Reynoso Sauvignon Blanc - reg. $32 / $24.99 sale 2019 Reynoso Red Blend – reg. $40 / $29.99 sale 2018 Reynoso Cabernet – reg. $50 / $39.99 sale 2019 Crescere Ritchie Sauvignon Blanc – reg. $75 / $59.99 sale 2018 Crescere Platt Chardonnay – reg. $125 / $109.99 sale 2018 Crescere Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir – reg. $135 / $119.99 sale 2018 Crescere Proprietary Red – reg. $185 / $169.99 sale 2018 Crescere Cabernet Sauvignon – reg. $245 / $199.99 sale Now, I know these aren’t cheap. But… 1.) They’re at the best (and in some cases only) prices anywhere, and 2.) For Melka wines of this quality – not to mention scarcity – they are actually quite reasonable. So with a tasting like this, and tickets being only $20, you may not want to wait to reserve your spot.
