Take a morning stroll through the French Quarter, one of Charles Towne's oldest neighborhoods located within the original walled city. Named for the French Protestants who arrived in 1680, this area is home to the two oldest church congregations in the Holy City, as well as the first theater built for the performing arts. Quaint inns, waterfront views, excellent restaurants, and countless art galleries make the French Quarter one of Charleston's most unique districts.
