Mini Explorer Club provides educational, children’s “explore and play” classes with a focus on outdoor and messy play. Typically, classes will include an opening circle with a story, short lesson, play activity, and closing circle. Mini explorers are not expected to sit still! Classes are offered in series which feature similar topics or themes. Each individual class has a unique activity, lesson, and targeted age range. This class is part of our Fall 2022 "Social Emotional Learning (SEL) Series" and focuses on managing worries through an invitation to create worry dolls using craft supplies as well as items from nature. Suggested age range for this event is 3-10. This age range is only a suggestion. We believe in the benefits of mixed age play. MEC believes in inclusivity and welcomes everyone. Parents are required to stay and are encouraged to play and learn right alongside their mini explorer. Children under age 2 are free with a paid older sibling. Please plan to bring: weather appropriate, comfy play clothes (maybe even a spare set?), a water bottle, and a blanket or chair to sit on.
