DETROIT — A man died Sunday morning after crashing his car on Interstate 75 in Detroit, Michigan State Police said.
State troopers said the 27-year-old man from Redford was speeding on the freeway when he left the roadway on the right in the northbound lanes, striking a bridge embankment near 8 Mile Road.
Officers found the driver dead where he crashed his car, officials said. He was not wearing a seatbelt, police said.
Northbound Interstate 75 near 8 Mile Road in Detroit was closed Sunday morning while police were investigating the crash. The freeway has since reopened, according to state officials.
