Requirement: Can name and tell how to identify eatable and poisonous mushrooms grown wild in the Pacific Northwest rainforest safely. (Are you a fugi forgager?) No - Mycology degree required. Do bring your photos of local finds. Do bring a few of your books on Mushrooms with you. Do share what foraging clubs or experiences you have. Do bring your chainsaw. (You will be asked to show you can safely use it). Do bring a work and education resume. Applicants need to share a detailed plan of growth schedule and how best to develop the 20x40 Mushroom building. If you are coming from outside of Mendocino or you just want to you can camp here for several days before officially applying. See this place inside and out. Cabins are given on a first come, first available. Tent space is also here. Have a full-time job and no free time, then come by, get all the info you need, Check us out, and then in a few days send us a PDF with your ideas on how best to set up the mushroom side of the house. You do not need to stay here to apply for the job, but you will need to stay here if you get the job. Forest Haven will open soon and requires a full-time mushroom farmer who knows local mushrooms and has experience growing mushrooms on logs. As an Eco-Tourism Airbnb, our guests will stay in our off-grid Cabins and Tent platforms. They may forge up to a couple of pounds of whatever they find growing, or we will drive them through the woods and let them borrow our knife and basket to harvest what we show them. The expert will need to want to share knowledge. We do not sell or grow magic mushrooms. Forest Haven is an $$$$ Event Destination based on Gourmet and Medicinal mushrooms grown locally with a few transplants to ensure year-round harvesting. Not a drug source. We are 3 miles deep, the last parcel on the dirt road. Heavily treed and enough natural spring water to keep us in business year-round (so far). Oak, Douglass fir, Redwood, and Madron are the primary trees here. Internet and Cell = Yes TV = No. Off-Grid: No Electric, Water, or Sewage Waste. Wildlife = yes! no fences except for the large sunny garden.
