Hi all. I'm looking to form a cover band (and perhaps create some original jams) largely inspired by Grateful Dead, Phish, and other jambands. I've been drumming from a young age, playing in school jazz bands, cover bands in college, and just jamming down here in Austin. My goal and philosophy as a drummer is not to overplay with show-stealing noise, but rather to facilitate soundscapes for other musicians to interact and improvise over. Ego-less drumming is what I would call it -- I'll take you where you need to go. I love playing funky, disco-driven beats, blues, jazz... straight rock drumming is fine too I guess. If you're like-minded and wanna get into some jamming, whether it's dead-esque spaciness or really tight, less-is-more grooves, I'm down.
