Cricket is an @8 year old neutered JRT/Chihuahua cross @ ten pounds. She is healthy but no idea of vet records or shots…I assume she was given the basics as a puppy. She is well behaved, great on a leash and wants nothing but to hang out with her person. I regularly take her into stores and people go ga-ga over her. She likes walks but also pretty happy to hang out on her bed near the feet of her person. She is protective and will bark and try to nip the heels of someone she she sees as an intruder, but so far has done no damage. She is fine with other animals. She does not bother cats, chickens, rabbits or water fowl. She is fine with other dogs, including big dogs, but not very interested in them. Very people oriented. She has no prey drive and doesn’t dig. She is food oriented and likes to forage for food scraps wherever she is. I have trained her to stay out of the kitchen and off the furniture, but I know for certain she sneaks into the kitchen to hoover.... She doesn’t do well locked in a car or the house by herself and will bark like crazy. Except in this circumstance or alerting to intruders, she is pretty quiet. I have used a cheap bark collar on her to manage this behavior with success. Cricket prefers women but also gets along with men and is fine with children. She needs a home where someone is around most of the time—she will not do well with a family with day jobs who are gone all day. A retired person on a rural property would be ideal, or someone who works from home. She wants to be a lapdog and companion dog that goes everywhere with you…she is a 24/7 type creature. She was a rescue that someone dumped in my ex husband's car. I have been fostering her for about a year, but I have a new puppy and it is time for her to find her forever retirement home.
