PEABODY, MA — Peabody Veterans Memorial High School will act as a coronavirus vaccination site for first responders in the city as soon as Monday. Gov. Charlie Baker on Monday said some 45,000 first responders will begin getting vaccinated on Jan. 11. The vaccine will be available to police, firefighters, EMTs and other first responders. The Lowell Street site will open as early as Monday, according to the state, with those seeking a vaccine asked to enter through side doors of fieldhouse adjacent to football field. Do not enter through main school entrance. Wait in vehicle until scheduled appointment time. The state on Tuesday morning announced all 114 COVID-19 vaccination sites for Massachusetts first responders, further detailing a widespread effort to convert everything from elementary schools to senior centers to town halls into vaccination destinations. An interactive map of all sites can be found here. State guidelines said qualifying departments that plan to vaccinate at least 200 individuals may request vaccines to be administered on site. Departments that would like this option can follow the guidelines to request an individual vaccination site here. First responders can schedule an appointment ahead of time. As of Tuesday, the appointment link for this site had yet to be activated. The Peabody High site is scheduled to be open Monday through Thursday. Mass vaccination sites — including Fenway Park and Gillette Stadium — are set to be launched in the coming weeks. First responders are reminded this vaccine requires two doses. Recipients will receive the same vaccine in both doses at the same location.
