Silence is one of our greatest teachers, particularly in today's busy world. This practice is open to all levels of meditation practitioners. Maintaining comfort during the common discomfort that arises during long sits will be a focus and space will be provided to move and stretch as needed. These quarterly mini-retreats will culminate in a New Year 2023 silent meditation retreat for those who would like to build into a full weekend practice. Our schedule is simple. (Those who would like to have a chance to ask questions and process will move to a quiet separate space for discussion.)60 minute Silent Sit20 minute Sea of Oms and Closing CirclePlease: Wear comfortable clothingBring cozy socks, layers, a shawl or blanket, a meditation cushion or pillow, and any tea/mug that you love (the studio also has meditation cushions available).Mala beads (if you use them) and a journal (if you want).INSTRUCTOR BIO: Carrie Tyler, RN, CHPN, HNB-BC, E-RYT500 is a certified holistic nurse, death and bereavement doula, minimalist, yoga therapist and teacher trainer. Carrie is known for her compassionate and playful teaching style and her strong knowledge of anatomy, alignment, and yogic lifestyle. She is a writer and business consultant for both the fitness and medical industries. Her work has been featured at numerous conferences including Wanderlust and Yoga Journal as well as in national magazines such as Pilates Style and Mantra Magazine. She is an initiate of the Aghor Yoga Lineage of Sonoma Ashram whose guiding principles help her stay committed to a life of selfless service and simplicity. She currently works full-time in healthcare, and in her spare time walks the tree-lined streets of Cary with her husband Nate, and Mercy, her exuberant therapy dog-in-training.
