In 2016 the American College of Physicians stated: “All adult patients should receive Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I) as the first step in treating chronic insomnia.” This CBT-I Certificate program is open to everyone, but Social Workers, Mental Health Counselors, and Marriage and Family Therapists will receive 6 CEUs as well as a Certificate of course completion. The programs’ evidence-based strategies will allow therapists and other healing professionals to help their clients increase energy during the day, sleep more deeply at night, and re-initiate sleep during the night when they awaken. Her mission is to help uplift the consciousness of the planet and call people back to their own highest good. She received her Ph.D. from The Ohio State University in Somatic Education which addresses the mind-body-spirit connection, and she is the author of the highly reviewed book 52 Weeks of Relief: Uplifting Provocations for Stress Reduction & Self-Care. Dr. Lord has been a speaker, trainer, and coach for over 30 years guiding people toward their own happiness, stress-relief, personal empowerment, and intelligent self-management. In addition to being an author, professional speaker, and trainer, Dr. Lord developed the REST Program (Restoring Employee Sleep-Time) for a large County Government in southwest Florida; the REST Program utilizes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia to reverse even long-term insomnia; she taught at The Ohio State University, winning a prestigious award for teaching excellence; she was a counselor focusing on women’s issues and the importance of self-love; she developed curriculum and was primary researcher for Ohio State’s Complementary Health Initiative Pilot Project; she published a worksite Positivity Study in the peer-reviewed journal JOEM; she was the Director of an Integrative Healing Arts Center focusing on personal/spiritual growth; and is currently the Stress-Reduction Expert for a 2,500 employee organization.
