Autumn is a time of transition, transformation, and balance. In the ancient tradition of 5 Elements Qi Gong and Traditional Chinese Medicine, finding harmony within ourselves, with our own life force energy, and with the natural cycle of the seasons is a main foundation of this moving meditation.
In this 4 week course we will learn fundamental movements, breathing techniques, and short flow mediations that will introduce the practice, science, and philosophy of Qi Gong practice specifically for the season of Autumn. Classes will include appropriate Qi Gong flow movement series for balancing states of energy, regulating body organs according to universal elements, and short educational discussions about philosophy and origin of practices for the season.
The season of Autumn practice will focus on the element of metal, the health and balance of our lungs and large intestines, channeling the power of our seasonal animal, the tiger, and discovering our Yin and Yang energies both externally and internally.
Classes will include methodical Qi Gong warm ups to awaken body sensations, movement flow series, guided mindfulness, and breath work along with meditative practices and short informational discussions.
