Two bonded, hand tame pet cockatiels need a new, good home where someone is home. I cannot keep them any longer and am often not home. One bird was caught outdoors and probably "born" in 2007 and the other hatched on Aug 18, 2012. Like all cockatiels both will make squawking noise sometimes and the older bird will sometimes whistle, yet both are quiet for most of the day. If you communicate with them, they will verbally acknowledge you when you get home. Both are smart and can escape from the cage if the sliding or swinging access doors are not locked with clasps or carabiners. The younger learned from watching the older. As soon as they are aware the locks are removed, they will start trying to escape. The older seems to think he is a genius and does some other stuff that is interesting. Neither "speak" or "sing" or were taught to do so. They both come with one medium size cage with five openings (three have "locks" applied) and multiple cage accessories, perches, dishes, bath and side table to put the cage on if desired. The cage also has four supports to enable hanging from a ceiling. They are trusting birds and need a good home where they are not poked or teased by children (all animals can become agitated and angry when teased). Like all birds, they are afraid of rapid movements (and will want to fly even though flight feathers are trimmed) and the younger bird is also afraid of other animals/pets, yet the older bird is ok with gentle, well tempered dogs after a good introduction. In their current home, they enjoy a quiet, well lit location with a little bit of direct sun every day, along with a bath and protection/walls on two cage sides. For a new home, $320 is to discourage some "traders/buyers", but willing to negotiate for the right home and those who enjoy cockatiels. Please only consider taking them in if your home is a good environment for them.
