This is a very-early-years-U2 tribute band project covering the years 1979-1982, because it's a different kind of U2 which is also very special, and is due some focused attention in the form of a tribute band. This is a unique U2 tribute band project,… unlike any other U2 tribute. If you want to perform these songs(some examples linked below) in live venues in the San Diego / SoCaL region, and do it with conviction and soul, and good humor, contact me. The idea with this project is a sort of hybrid retro-tiki-oasis-cartoon-surf-rockabilly-western imagery and manner with a 1970's/early80's punk/new-wave element, early SoCaL thrash metal (really, and yes, the 2nd to last photograph is Mustaine-era Metallica),… performing just 1979-1982 U2 of select songs and renditions. The idea is hybrid-campyness, in a way that works, so that people 'trip' on it. And, you gotta have an interesting vibe and image, with keen interest,…. if this is going to happen. This is about how you project and perform. It's a contrived art,… from the heart. In the links below are songs we'd perform, and we'd also perform other U2 songs from that time. Guitarist position filled, so bass, drums, and vocal are open, and there are multiple people interested, but it's a matter of making it happen. And, multiple guitarists are fine if the quality is there. If you're into this, great! If not then don't do it.
