Description

Medfield Drop Box is in a new location behind Town Hall If you look for the Drop Box right outside the ground floor door at the rear of Town Hall, you'll see it is no longer there....it has a new home. The green drop box, which has been available to Town of Medfield residents for many years, was widely used during this past year and is now a "drive up" or "walk up" drop box located behind Town Hall on the cobblestone island on Janes Avenue. "We are so excited about it!" stated Town Administrator, Kristine Trierweiler. "As you know I am always looking at ways to improve services for our residents...we have seen a large increase in the number of people using the drop box since COVID started in March, it was so helpful for mail-in voting, payments, correspondence, etc." Trierweiler also mentioned that Town Treasurer, Georgia Colivas and Director of Public Works, Moe Goulet brought the idea to her and she thought it was great and by moving the box it would make the drop offs easier for the residents of Medfield to use. "The previous location was definitely not handicapped accessible and was causing some close calls in the parking lot as there was nowhere to park when using the old location" continued Trierweiler, "then having to exit your car to get to the box was proving difficult for some of our residents and (difficult) for all of our residents in bad weather." Trierweiler stated, "Great teamwork all around. Eric Iafolla did a great job of repainting the box and getting it ready this past spring, and Bobby Kennedy from the DPW and his staff did the hard work of moving it from its previous spot to installing it in its new location."
