Description
A Medfield Historical Minute... This "Medfield Historical Minute" is brought to you by town historian Richard DeSorgher.A little something to read and learn to give you a little break during this time of boredom during isolation due to the Coronavirus Crisis. A different "Medfield Historical Minute" will appear each day during the Crisis.
"In 1893 a severe summer hailstorm struck the town, causing much damage. Forty-two panes, some stained glass, were broken in the Unitarian Church and three panes in the Maltese Cross window of the Orthodox-Congregational Church (today's UCC Church) were broken. Vestry windows of the Baptist Church suffered damage, as did many private residences. Hurricane force winds were reported in town as a result of the storm."
