Hello, We are looking to rehome our beautiful Alaskan Malamute, one of the oldest dog breeds dating back to the Mahlemut tribes of Alaska. These dogs were bred for loyalty, companionship, and strength, as they would carry large loads 10+ miles a day solo. Toby is a fierce friend who always wants to play (he's still puppy brain) but will curl up at the end of the bed or on the couch and doesn't mind binge-watching your favorite show with you and relaxing. This is NOT a watch-dog, he doesn't meet a stranger or other dog he doesn't like and would be asking the robber for pets. This breed needs to be exercised once a day minimum, but we have taken him on 10 mile runs and that seems to be his daily limit. Ideally someone who could walk him twice a day would be perfect, but we all have busy schedules, and he is not destructive in the least. He is a moderate chewer and seems to prefer bully sticks and large bones. This breed also needs daily brushing but rest assured if that happens you wont be wearing him daily. We usually take the Furminator to him once a week plus daily regular brushing and that keeps the fur away. Unfortunately my wife and I are moving overseas and we cannot take him with us.
