Meet Shamus. He is a fixed 8 years old papered Doberman and is quite the sweet loving house broken dog that is great with our family and loves people. He knows the basic commands like sit, lay, shake, Shamus, out of the kitchen etc. He is very food motivated. He does not like cats, he howls at sirens and car alarms, and has an incredible nose. He has been very good with every dog he's met since we've had him. He really is a great dog, he just doesn't fit in our type of family living. We adopted him about 3 years and are no longer able to keep him after October. He does not travel well at all and because of that, we as a family, have not been able to enjoy things like camping, boating, biking, traveling, hiking etc because he must stay home. In October we will be traveling and it's not fair to Shamus. We feel it would be best for him to enjoy his remaining years in a less stressful environment. Ideally he is going to someone that is home often and loves having a dog companion. He loves going on walks and loves hanging out in the kitchen helping with every meal. He looks very intimidating but is just a sweet boy that loves attention. He is free and will include all of his belongings, including a crate.
