We are hosting a multi-round bouldering onsight climbing competition. About this Event We are hosting a bouldering onsight climbing competition for all Team Texas and elite level athletes, but also to any athletes interested in trying out for the team! Climbers will compete in a socially-distanced environment, and will attend an outdoors award ceremony. Registration includes a t-shirt and a raffle ticket for each competitor. COMPETITION INFORMTATION - Bouldering will be in onsight format and competitors will have 6 boulder problems. - Scoring will be done virtually. - Registration will close on 1/31 at midnight in order to generate a running order schedule prior to the competition. Athletes MUST sign up by 1/27 at midnight to guarantee receiving a competitor shirt! - The raffle and awards ceremony will take place outside of the gym on Sunday upon completion of the finals round. COVID PRECAUTIONS - Absolutely no one is permitted in the gym except for competitors, coaches, volunteers, and staff. Parents and siblings are not allowed in (parents are allowed to sign up to volunteer!) but are welcome to the outdoor award ceremony. - Social distancing, mask wearing, and sanitizing frequently touched surfaces every 2 hours will be strictly enforced. - Entry protocol: Climbers must have a mask on before entering. The mask must cover the nose and mouth, and must stay on the entire time they are in the gym (please click here to read Summit's guidelines on acceptable masks). A volunteer will distribute hand sanitizer, mark your attendance, and explain our policies and procedures. From there, we will perform an infrared temperature check and ask a few screening questions. CATEGORIES Then they will be broken up by gender (male/female) and by age category: Junior: Born in 2003-2002 (oldest) Youth A: Born in 2005-2004 Youth B: Born in 2006-2007 Youth C: Born in 2008-2009 Youth D: Born in 2010 or later (youngest) SCHEDULE Running order and check in/pick up times will be released via email by/on Monday, February 1st via email, please check you spam folder! Day 1: February 6th - Qualifier Round Day 2: February 7th - Final Round - Top 8 competitors from each category will qualify WE NEED VOLUNTEERS!
