Classification Hourly (non-exempt) Reports to Facilities Manager Hourly Rate: Commensurate with knowledge and experience Summary/Objective The Operations Crew Member is responsible for keeping our campus clean, sanitary, safe, and orderly. Essential Functions • Cleaning and maintenance of both the exterior and interior school campuses, classrooms, offices, and restrooms – including sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, waxing, dusting, and polishing. • Remove trash, pick up litter, maintain receptacles. • Replenish restroom supplies and fill dispensers. • Stack and store furniture, equipment, and supplies. • Replace light bulbs and makes minor, non-technical maintenance repairs. • Event set-up and breakdown. • Room reconfiguration support. • Work with the Operations Department to fulfill various maintenance/work order requests. • Perform other related work duties as required. Competencies At least one (1) year of prior experience in janitorial/operations work. Must pass a LiveScan background check and TB Clearance. Proof of COVID vaccination and booster. • Ability to perform simple pluming, painting, and other handyman type of tasks. • Ability to work with and around people in a positive and cooperative manner. • Knowledge of and skills in handling cleaning equipment. • Valid California Driver’s License. • Able to walk without difficulty over varied grounds and terrain, including stairs. • Able to lift 40 pounds from a standing position. • Able to lift objects overhead, pivot, and return objects to original position. Supervisory Responsibility This position has no supervisory responsibilities. Work Environment While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently moving from one point in campus to another, cleaning, lifting, moving and other physical work is involved in the position. Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. The ideal candidate must be able to complete all physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation. Position Type/Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time position with some flexibility to the work schedule. Ability to work at night, weekends and/or early morning hours based on business needs. Travel Local travel is required for this position.
