Posture Clinic
Focus on Half Moon and Triangle
Saturday, October 8
12:30-2:30pm
All-Level Posture Clinic
Guided by Tina
Please come with an open mind and an empty stomach because this clinic will offer strength-building drills as a warm-up that enhances the 26/2 series. The clinic is suitable for all levels. The room temperature is moderate, not heated. Students that take the 10am Classic 90 can freshen up and shower and have a light snack before the posture clinic. This will be a relaxed learning environment. Props including the ballet bar will be encouraged for those who need them to ensure accessibility and safety—due to the powerful and dynamic movements of the spine and pelvis, avoiding eating a heavy meal 2-4 hours before the class is best. After the foundational series of postures to warm up, we will examine the half-moon pose and triangle pose. The concepts for this workshop are formatted from the Ghosh lineage (Bikram’s teacher), and the series of postures are specific to the Original Hot Yoga postures. Ghosh Yoga and his lineage is recognized as a therapeutic form of yoga and is still taught at Ghosh’s Yoga College in Kolkata, India, by Muktamala Mitra, granddaughter of Bishnu Ghosh.
Specialty Class Investment: $40 for members and $50 for non-members. Please Note: We are encouraging students to sign-up in advance. Light refreshments served.
