The Volusia/Flagler Chapter of the Florida Public Relations Association (FPRA) will
welcome Heather Files, Executive Director of the Halifax Historical Society Museum as
the guest speaker at their October professional development luncheon. This meeting
will be held on Thursday, October 20 at 11:30 a.m. in the Dennis McGee Room at the
Daytona Beach International Airport.
Files started with the Museum in 2020 and currently serves as the Executive Director
and will talk on the topic, “Rebranding Strategies: Updating Your Company without
Losing Your Audience.” Prior to the Halifax Historical Society, Files worked in the food
service industry, specifically fine dining for many years.
The Halifax Historical Society was founded in 1949 to gather, preserve, and present the
history of the Halifax River area to educate the public. The museum's permanent
exhibits showcase the history of the greater Daytona Beach area, from Ormond Beach
through Ponce Inlet and Port Orange (known as the Halifax Area, after our river), the
museum’s timeline begins with artifacts dating from 2,500 to 5,000 B.C.E.
Register by noon on October 17 at fpravf.org. Lunch is included in the cost of $30 for
members, $40 for non-members, and $15 for students. Walk-ins are accepted for a $5
additional surcharge.
