Description

Wild Thing is delighted to host another installment of its 'Makers Series' - a lineup of events highlighting local artists in makers in creative and interactive ways. This GUIDED CACAO TASTING with Soul Lift Cacao will be both informative and inspirational, and will also include a TREE TO CUP PRESENTATION. Ticket price includes tasting and presentation, plus a signature bowl and beverage from Wild Thing. About Soul Lift Cacao: Nick Meador will offer a guided ceremonial cacao tasting with a presentation on how the cacao is grown and prepared. Nick is an ethical entrepreneur and transformational facilitator. Starting in 2015, Guatemalan ceremonial cacao changed Nick’s life by helping him overcoming chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS). In the years since, Nick has traveled throughout Central America connecting with farmers, experts, and Mayan spiritual leaders. He founded Soul Lift Cacao in 2018 with the mission to create a positive impact in the world by helping indigenous collectives share their small-batch ceremonial cacao in the U.S. and beyond. Nick's work centers on how to share this "food of the gods" into modern contexts in an ethical and responsible way that gives back through acknowledgement and compensation. This model of toasting the cacao over wood fire and peeling by hand in Guatemala sends an average of 1100% the "fair trade" rate per pound back to the source country. Nick also leads workshops that incorporate cacao with embodiment and communication practices, which many report bringing a new sense of clarity and connectedness. Soul Lift Cacao's shop is moving to historic Mississippi Ave in October. Visit soulliftcacao.com for more info!
