Running is supposed to be an escape; a way to free our minds and bodies, relax and enjoy ourselves. But that doesn't mean we forget about our safety.
The recent tragedy surrounding Eliza Fletcher is not the first story of a runner being abducted and killed, and it won't be the last.
But there are steps we can all take to make running safer -- for ourselves, our families and our friends.
Members of the Delray Beach Police Department will be leading a free running self-defense class. They will go over simple movements that we can all implement to protect ourselves. Then Fleet Feet Delray Beach Operating Partner Hannah Schwab will share some running safety tips.
All those that attend will be entered into a raffle for a free visibility running vest and the first 5 people to RSVP will win a Fleet Feet magnetic light from Amphipod.
