David co-heads the firms San Francisco office and has over 25 years' experience in international mergers & acquisitions, venture capital investments, joint ventures, and other complex corporate & commercial transactions in the technology sector. Since relocating to the US five years ago, David concentrates on advising US clients in their time-zone with a particular focus on expansion plans to the UK and Europe. Additionally, David co-ordinates the advice of members of our international teams to our US clients across the breadth of sectors and geographies in which the firm operates. JARED VAN ORDEN Jared is a VP of Sales and Trading with GPS Capital Markets, a currency exchange brokerage that helps companies move money around the globe, lock exchange rates, and convert funds between currencies at favorable rates. Jared works from GPS' Global Headquarters in Salt Lake City, Utah and co-manages the Rocky Mountain, Great Plains and Great Lakes Regions as well as a couple specific industry verticals. Jared has over a decade of experience in all aspects of foreign exchange and works with multinational companies to budget, forecast, and calculate exposures to currency risk. Jared is a member of the Salt Lake and Colorado chapters of the Association of Financial Professionals (AFP), and a board member of the Salt Lake World Trade Center. Jared holds a Master’s degree in Accounting from Brigham Young University and the title of Dad for his 6 children. DEREK DRYSDALE Derek, an International Tax Partner at Tanner LLC, has more than 17 years of experience advising multinational companies on their international tax and cross border transactions. He has advised hundreds of companies on the tax implications of their global business operations. Derek’s expertise includes properly reporting and accounting for the income tax impact of cross border transactions, audit defense, tax mitigation strategies, tax law change impact modeling, and operational transfer pricing solutions. His background includes serving companies large and small as part of a Big Four international tax team as well as leading the international tax team for a Silicon Valley based fortune 500 company. Derek’s mix of both public accounting and in-house experience make him uniquely qualified to advise on international tax matters. He is a frequent speaker on international tax matters and has been a presenter at conferences throughout the US and internationally. He received his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in accounting (tax emphasis) from Brigham Young University. Derek is a CPA registered in the state of Utah and is a member of the Utah Association of Certified Public Accountants as well as the AICPA. Derek is passionate about making his community a better place and serves on the boards of World Trade Center Utah and Youthlinc.
