Description

In celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, join us for one of BPCA’s most popular events highlighting the importance of stewardship and conservation of our local waters. The day features catch-and-release fishing with experienced anglers, an art project, and a nature walk with The Bee Conservancy. Our special guests, Teatro Sea, will present The Galapagos Convention, a live play with puppetry. The bilingual educational theater creates works specifically designed to examine, challenge and create possible solutions for communities. 10AM-1PM: CATCH-AND-RELEASE FISHING 10:45AM: ART PROJECT 11AM: FAMILY THEATER PERFORMANCE 12:15PM: NATURE WALK Join The Bee Conservancy’s founder, Master Beekeeper and Chief Melittologist, Guillermo Fernandez as he leads a nature walk and discusses native bees — including mason, leafcutter, carpenter, and bumble bees — and their habitats right inside of Battery Park City. TBC will also provide bee specimens, kids activities, and community science opportunities throughout the event.
