Look forward to seeing you! Sara Ramirez Sara Ramirez became executive director of Catholic Charities of Central Texas in September 2013. During her eight years as executive director, the organization increased the number of clients served by 272% moving from serving 4,000 clients a year to over 16,000 a year. This growth was a result of expanding current program operations as well as starting new programs, Counseling Services and St. Michael’s Veteran Services. Sara introduced a unique fundraising model that focuses on sustainable funding for long-term stability and growth with a current operating budget of $6.5 million. Under Sara’s leadership Catholic Charities has built upon its strong foundation and is now on the launch pad to answer the call to action across a 25 county service region. Sara has 19 years of experience in the social services arena, including more than a decade of nonprofit leadership. Prior to joining CCCTX, Sara served 9 years in leadership roles for Catholic Charities of Fort Worth, where she assisted the organization in growing from an $8 million to a $23 million dollar organization and expanded program capacity from 23 programs to over 40 programs. Sara began her career in social services as a high-risk investigator for the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services, where she worked with local police departments, medical professionals, social services agencies and legal professionals to advocate on behalf of children and families. She holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Texas Tech University and a master’s degree in social work from the University of Texas at Arlington. Sara is an expert on poverty-related issues and is available to speak to the press and community organizations on poverty interventions and the effects of poverty on our society.
