FRAMINGHAM, MA — Mayor Yvonne Spicer is entering a reelection year with a fresh infusion of cash.
After several months with little fundraising activity, Spicer's campaign raised just shy of $10,000 in December, according to campaign finance records posted Tuesday by the state Office of Campaign and Political Finance.
December was Spicer's second-highest fundraising month of 2020 after the campaign took in $10,646 in July, and about $3,400 in August. The mayor's campaign ended 2020 with $27,422 in the bank. She began the year with less than half that — $11,713 — in her coffers.
The bulk of the December fundraising came on Dec. 21, when Spicer took in about 70 individual contributions. Spicer pulled support from across the state, including many government officials: Chelsea City Manager Thomas Ambrosino, $25; Framingham spokesperson Kelly McFalls, $25; former Joe Kennedy campaign staffer Ali Zaidi, $250; Everett City Councilor Gerly Adrien, $50; Melrose Mayor Paul Brodeur, $100; Marlborough City Councilor Samantha Perlman, $25; and Framingham Councilor Tracey Bryant, $50.
