Join Us For A Night Celebrating 10 years Empower SCI is a 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization founded with the mission of helping individuals living with spinal cord injury to lead happier, more meaningful, and more independent lives. We've booked the Marriott in Downtown Providence to celebrate our success with you! Dress is black tie optional. All past participants, volunteers, and supporters of any kind are welcome to join us for a night of recognition, celebration, gratitude, dancing, exceptional eats, raffles, and other surprises. *Please indicate your desired meal preference on the ticket order form. If you are attending as a group of two or more, please purchase tickets together in order to be seated at the same table. Where does the money go? Empower Spinal Cord Injury is truly a "labor of love." Since 2010 we have been a primarily volunteer-staffed summer program, so you can be sure that your funds will go directly to the cost of the program itself. The bulk of the program cost comes from providing room and board for our participants, volunteers, mentors and clinical specialists on campus and under one roof. In order to keep program costs down for each participant, we raise approximately $4,000 per participant, per year, to allow 1 person to attend this life-changing program. What does the money provide? Room and board for 1-2 weeks 24-hour assistance with all daily care and mobility Daily recreational activities Rehabilitation counseling Social activities Therapy (PT/OT) to improve independence Peer mentoring Yoga and Therapeutic Massage What is the price-tag on finding your passion in life? In realizing that life is worth living and anything is possible? On finding a new support network and friends that will be close for the rest of your life? That is what Empower provides. And that is why we want to make this program available to more people throughout the country.
