Dear Families and Friends of ICSAtlanta,  The Martinstag Committee is excited to invite you to this year's Martinstag Celebration. Here is a little bit about why the German Track is celebrating Martinstag: As the story goes, Martin started as a Roman soldier; he was a kind man who led a quiet and simple life. The most famous legend of his life is that he once cut his cloak in half to share with a beggar during a snowstorm in order to save his life. During this celebration in German-speaking countries, children walk in procession carrying lanterns and singing Martinstag songs. We will participate in a similar activity during our Martinstag community event. We will also collect coats, hats, and scarves to donate. You can bring these items to school from October 31 to November 11 or to our community event on November 12. Please RSVP for our Martinstag event in order to ensure we have enough food and lanterns for everyone to enjoy a fun evening together.  Kind Regards,  The Martinstag Committee P.S. The Martinstag Event is a fundraiser for the ICSAtlanta German Track. Tickets to purchase lanterns, activites, and food will be sold at the event. Cash preferred. Card reader available for purchases of 25 tickets or more.
