Description

Volunteering at White Harvest Farms is a learning opportunity where volunteers get hands-on experience growing organic vegetables. WHF staff explain all your activities and work with you to learn about regenerative farming. Volunteer tasks are physical - planting, weeding, bed prep, mulching, harvesting, washing produce, bagging and labeling produce. Actions like digging, raking, bending, twisting, using a wheelbarrow, and lifting may feel like a full-body workout! If you have any physical or health limitations we can accommodate you. Tuesday - planting, weeding, seeding Friday/ Saturday - harvest, planting, seeding Saturday - weeding, bed prep **for groups larger than 5 please email [email protected]** WHAT TO WEAR? Clothes for outdoor work that they do not mind getting dirty. We recommend closed-toe shoes, pants, breathable long-sleeve shirts, and a hat. Also consider bringing sunscreen, bug spray, and gardening gloves. We provide drinking water but please bring a water bottle that you can refill. We drink a lot of water at WHF! DON'T GET LOST! Look for the white fence surrounding the farm and the high tunnel on the farm site. If you are heading North on Moncrief (coming from UNF), the farm is just after you cross the railroad tracks on the left-hand side of the road. If you are driving south on Moncrief, the farm is just after you pass Moncrief Creek on the right-hand side of the road. Once you arrive, pull up past the metal Quonset Hut and park next to the orange storage containers. At WHF we want to be socially responsible and provide safety tips for anyone concerned about their health. If you have symptoms of Covid19 or have any other illness please reschedule for another day. Thank you so much for being a part of White Harvest Farms!
